1. What sets your accounting firm apart from other firms?
At Badger, we focus on more than just numbers—we build relationships. Our relational approach, high-touch boutique environment, and world-class team set us apart. We hire people who not only deliver results but genuinely care for others. Serving clients with humility and excellence is at the core of everything we do. In an industry where transactional relationships are becoming automated, we believe human connection is more important than ever.
2. Why did you decide to go into the field of accounting?
I’ve always loved math and solving problems with numbers, so accounting was a natural path. I’ve long been fascinated by entrepreneurship, and advising business owners has become my true passion. Helping clients understand their finances and make confident decisions is incredibly rewarding. The field is evolving quickly with advancements in technology and AI, but what will always matter most is the ability to provide thoughtful advice and build meaningful client relationships.
3. What do you enjoy most about your work?
The most fulfilling part of my work is seeing the tangible difference we make in clients’ lives and businesses. Recently, we helped an organization uncover financial inconsistencies, build better reporting processes, and restore trust within their team after a difficult transition. Business owners often feel overwhelmed by accounting, and it’s gratifying to bring clarity and peace of mind. When companies have solid financial systems, they can better serve their teams and customers.
4. Who has influenced you the most in your life or career?
My family has been my greatest influence. Growing up, my parents emphasized kindness towards others, hard work, and humor, values I carry into my leadership today. My husband and four children keep me grounded and remind me of what truly matters. Being a mother has given me more empathy for working parents and a strong desire to create a culture where our team can do great work while prioritizing their families.
5. What’s your favorite thing to do for fun in San Antonio?
San Antonio holds so many special memories for me. Growing up, we frequented Luby’s off Bitters and 281 (best mac and cheese ever!) and attended plays at the Majestic Theatre—a tradition I now continue with my family. We love visiting local favorites like Rosario’s and Alamo Café. Outside the city, our family enjoys skiing (though my kids now outpace me on the slopes!) and trips to the beach where we can unwind and spend quality time together.
6. What leadership lessons have you learned along the way?
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that it’s okay to not have all the answers. Vulnerability and transparency as a leader build trust and strengthen the team. Leading is a privilege—I get to work with incredibly talented people who could work anywhere but choose to be here. That’s not something I take for granted. When you care for your team, they, in turn, take great care of your clients.
