My favorite season is almost here: fall. But as we say goodbye to summer, it always leaves us wondering what to do with all those summer pieces we’ve been living in for the past few months.

The good news? You don’t have to put everything away just yet.

One of my favorite things about the transition from summer to fall is getting creative with what’s already in your closet. It’s the perfect time to layer, mix textures, and give your favorite warm-weather essentials a completely new life.

The Suit

A great suit is one of those wardrobe staples you can rely on in almost any season. It’s effortlessly polished, incredibly versatile, and one of the easiest pieces to transition from summer into fall.

During the warmer months, wear your suit with a simple tank, a fitted T-shirt, or even nothing more than a great pair of sandals. As temperatures begin to drop, swap the sandals for loafers, boots, or heels and add a lightweight knit or jacket underneath.

The key is to think beyond the traditional office look. A suit can be sophisticated, sexy, relaxed, or effortlessly cool depending on how you style it.

The Maxi Dress

Every woman needs a great maxi dress in her closet. It’s timeless, flattering, and one of those pieces that can take you almost anywhere

.

In summer, pair it with sandals and minimal accessories for an effortless daytime look. When fall arrives, give that same dress a completely different feel by adding a blazer, leather jacket, or a great pair of ankle boots.

One piece, two seasons—and suddenly that summer dress feels brand new.

And you can never go wrong with denim.

I especially love a great denim skirt because it’s a piece you can wear all year long while constantly reinventing it. For a casual daytime look, pair it with a simple, cool T-shirt and sandals. Want to take it out at night? Swap the T-shirt for a statement blouse, add heels or boots, and suddenly you have a completely different outfit.

As we move into fall, denim becomes even more fun to style. Think oversized sweaters, tailored jackets, boots, and unexpected accessories. The secret is to mix casual pieces with something a little more polished.

Keep It, Restyle It

The transition into a new season doesn’t mean you need a completely new wardrobe. Sometimes the most stylish thing you can do is look at your closet differently.

Before you pack away your summer favorites, ask yourself: How can I wear this in fall?

Add a layer. Change your shoes. Play with proportions. Mix textures. Add a belt or statement accessory.

Fashion is about creativity, and your wardrobe should work for you—not the other way around.

So before you say goodbye to summer, take another look at those pieces you love. With a little imagination, your favorite summer essentials might just become your best fall looks.
